CFA President Paul Smith´s Visit to FMPI
On September 2, 2019 Paul Smith visited Slovakia on the occasion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) company commencement in Slovakia. He also met with the Dean of FMPI.

CFA Institute is a renowned global union of professionals in investment management, associating investment analysts, portfolio managers and other experts in finance. The main objective of this association is to frame the investment vocation by supporting and encouraging the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence for the benefits of the society. The Institute provides an opportunity to obtain the globally accepted Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Currently it enrols more than 175 thousand members and 354 candidates in 164 countries.
The president and CEO of the CFA Institute Paul Smith visited Slovakia on September 2, 2019 to attend the foundation of CFA Society Slovakia. Apart from meetings with the managements of the biggest Slovak banks (Slovenská Sporiteľňa, Tatrabanka , VUB) his schedule included also a visit to the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. The top of his agenda was his negotiation with the Dean of the Faculty Professor Daniel Ševčovič concerning the participation of FMPI in the University Affiliation Program of the CFA Institute. Students of the Mathematics of Economics and Finance programme who took the 2nd position in the regional CFA Research Challenge contest this year in Prague were also invited to the meeting.
Establishing the cooperation between CFA and FMPI provides a unique chance to integrate theory with practice, which approach is not only demanded by students, but also crucial for making a successful career in finance at present time.
